Workshops and Lectures for Youth, Parents, and Educators
Throughout the year, a wide range of activities take place, focusing on critical issues that affect young people and their families:
- Internet Safety – guidance for teens and parents on safe browsing, protecting privacy, and recognizing risks on social media.
- Preparing for Vacations and Preventing Risk Behaviors – addressing challenges during summer and holiday breaks, with an emphasis on preventing the use of alcohol and harmful substances.
- Safe Driving – engaging lectures and workshops to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including simulators and practical training.
Parent Workshops – Culturally and Linguistically Adapted
To reach all communities in Haifa, the authority offers unique workshops for parents in four languages: Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and Amharic.
These workshops include culturally adapted content, helping parents manage their households, improve communication with their children, and encourage open, supportive dialogue on sensitive issues.
Educational Support for At-Risk Youth
The authority places special emphasis on the rehabilitation and reintegration of at-risk youth and young offenders.
Programs include:
- Personal mentoring and guidance
- Values-based education
- Social skills development
- Collaboration with the Police Youth Division, the Department of Youth and Young Adults, Correctional Services, and the Juvenile Probation Service
The goal is to equip young people with tools for positive, meaningful lives and support their successful integration into society.
Combating Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women
The authority is firmly committed to raising awareness and addressing domestic violence and violence against women.
Activities include:
- Targeted workshops for parents
- Distribution of informational materials to help recognize signs of abuse
- Guidance on where and how to seek help
Drug Abuse Awareness Month
During this month, the authority leads extensive citywide activities to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and promote positive alternatives for youth.
These include:
- Lectures and workshops across Haifa
- Creative and community-based events
- Alcohol breathalyzer distribution at entertainment venues to prevent drunk driving
Safe Nightlife – Enjoying Haifa Responsibly
In cooperation with law enforcement and venue owners, the authority works to ensure that nightlife in Haifa is both safe and enjoyable.
This initiative includes:
- Preventing violence in nightlife venues
- Increasing security presence
- Promoting personal responsibility among partygoers
